Feeding Foreign Followers Fish-fingers: Forever

What would I do if Yeshua of Nazareth and a group of his disciples knocked on my door tonight in need of a place to rest and a warm meal? Well, after the obvious shock and awesomeness of the entire situation had “passed”, I would want to make excuses for the mess, and maybe try to clean up or put things away. Then I would probably want to cook him some of my famous fish tacos and a huckleberry pie or two. But, honestly, if that’s what Yeshua wanted, I doubt He’d stop by my humble abode, for I know He knows how far my cooking skills go.

Yeshua fed thousands of people with a little bit of bread and a few unremarkable fish… and there were leftovers! If I fried up some fish-fingers fresh from the freezer and handed Him a glass of water and my half eaten bag of honey wheat pretzels; we’d feel as though it were the finest food to ever touch our tastebuds. We wouldn’t even question where the wine came from, or why, when we pick another handful of pretzels from the bag being passed from person to person, the bag remains half full.

11 And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.

John 6:11

At my fantastic, fish filled dinner party, Yeshua would be the center of attention. Yeshua the Christ came to save us, not make slaves of us. He wants us to spend time with Him and get to know Him. His Father sent him that we may be able to know our Creator by not only learning, but also memorizing and then finally acting on, His Word. The bible teaches us how to know Yeshua and, in turn, gives us an open channel to God Himself.

God is always knocking, will you let him in?

38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.

39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.

40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.

41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:

42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

Luke 10:38-42

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Matthew 6:34

So now abide faith, hope, and love, these three. But the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:13
